  • Taking care of teeth at different age groups

We all love to smile and we smile even bigger when it's the time to span a few photos. When you look at the final picture, you will view a joyful person looking back at you. The healthier those teeth, the happier you look. It is because your teeth are very important in different ways. If you will pay attention to your teeth, they will help take care of you. Strong and healthy teeth help to chew and grind the food properly and thus help to grow up. They help us to speak unmistakably. And the most imperative, they help one self to look best.

Why taking care of teeth is so important?

Various bacteria are present in the oral cavity in the form of plaque, an apparent film of bacteria that adheres to the teeth, which can cause cavities and gingivitis (gum disease). After having food, bacteria get attracted to sugar present on the teeth. The bacteria break it down into acids, which damage the tooth enamel leading to development of cavities, know as dental caries. Plaque also causes inflammation of the gums and makes them red, swollen, and sore. These conditions can create problems for the person in different ways; one may not smile due to bad teeth or may not be able to chew food properly due to pain. Studies have also shown that bad oral hygiene and health may lead to development of other diseases like, heart disease and infections. In other words, the status of oral health is the mirror of a person’s overall general health status.
