Betamethasone belongs to one of a group of medicines called corticosteroids. It is a strong and fast acting corticosteroid that works by reducing inflammation and calming down the immune system. Betamethasone is used to reduce the redness and itchiness of certain skin problems, such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
