Caution should be exercised when prescribing Amisulpride to patients with Parkinson's disease as it may cause worsening of the disease. Take special care and check with your doctor before taking Amisulpride if you have an unusual heart rate (rhythm) or have low blood potassium levels. If you have been told by the doctor that you might have a stroke, be careful before using this medication. If you or anyone family has a history of blood clots tell the doctor.
In case of hyperthermia, all antipsychotic drugs including Amisulpride should be stopped. Patients with diabetes mellitus, who are started on Amisulpride, should get appropriate blood sugar monitoring. In cases of renal insufficiency, the dose should be decreased. Patients with a history of seizures should be closely monitored during Amisulpride therapy. In elderly patients, Amisulpride should be used with caution due to possible risk of hypotension or sedation.
