Acetazolamide
|
Suicidal thoughts and behavior have been reported in patients receiving Acetazolamide. Therefore patients are advised to seek medical advice if signs of suicidal ideation or emerge. Higher dose may increase incidence of drowsiness and abnormal skin sensations.
Periodic blood cell counts and electrolyte levels measurements are recommended. If any skin reaction develops contact the doctor without any delay. In patients with lung obstruction, Acetazolamide may aggravate acidosis and should be used with caution. Acetazolamide may impair the ability of driving or operating the machinery. Intramuscular route is not recommended.
