Typical Appearance of Acne

 

Once it is visible, acne can be white, black or red. They can start as a pinpoint to over 1 inch in size. They can be in the upper layers of skin or may even penetrate deep within the skin. They can thus take either of the forms:

 

  • Blackheads
  • Whiteheads
  • Crusting of skin eruptions
  • Redness around the skin eruptions
  • Cysts
  • Scarring of the skin
