Herpes Simplex is a skin disease caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus or HSV. It leads to the formation of blisters around the mouth, nose or genitals in an infected individual. It is an annoying condition mostly because it keeps recurring and these sores are sometimes painful and look bad. Herpes Simplex Virus are of two types - Type 1 and Type 2. They both lead you to develop cold sores but type 1 infects the skin around mouth or nose whereas the type 2 virus infects the region below waist.
Appearance
The cold sores can be observed on your body as blisters that are very small, clear and filled with fluid. They most often occur on the face, near the mouth, but sometimes can also be found in the genital area. These blisters can also develop in a wounds that you already have on your skin.
