Melanoma is a type of skin cancer. As the name suggest Melanoma effects the skin pigments i.e melanocytes.
The risk factors for melanoma are same as that of other skin cancer
(1) History of family cancer in the family
(2) White skined people are more at risk than darked skin individuals
(3) More exposure to sun
